Building Community, Cultivating Creativity, and Healing the Earth.

2023 was a landmark year for the Kitty Gang Family Foundation as our first full year as a 501c3 non-profit. From the soil beneath our feet to the music in our ears, our mission to support local artists and sustainable living has reached new heights. Here is a look at what we accomplished together.

🌱 Environmental Stewardship

We believe that a healthy community starts with a healthy planet. Through our composting and waste diversion initiatives, we made a measurable dent in our local carbon footprint.

  • Waste Diversion: Saved 160 cubic yards of food scraps from landfills.

  • Carbon Offset: This offset 42 metric tons of greenhouse gases—the equivalent of taking 11 cars off the road for an entire year.

  • Soil Production: Produced 340 cubic feet of nutrient-rich compost for 8 community gardens and farms.

  • Education: Hosted 2 hands-on classes for elementary school students, teaching the next generation about the power of soil and composting.

🎨 The Arts & "Art Home"

Our "Art Home" serves as a sanctuary for local creators to experiment, produce, and flourish.

  • Creative Output: More than 2,000 paintings were created at Art Home this year.

  • Recording Studio: Recorded and produced 8 full-length albums and 27 singles featuring over 20 different local musicians.

  • Resources: Distributed over $10,000 in art supplies directly to local artists.

  • Hospitality: Provided housing for 7 touring bands and artists, keeping the DIY touring circuit alive in Tulsa.

🎸 Music & Performance

We are dedicated to keeping Tulsa’s music scene vibrant and accessible.

  • Booking: Booked over 50 musicians at various local Tulsa venues.

  • Events: Held 130 community events and supported 2 specialized music showcases.

  • Festivals: Assisted in the production of 3 local festivals and provided general support for 6 local festivals.

🤝 Community Care & Outreach

Kitty Gang is about more than just art; it’s about taking care of our neighbors.

  • Food & Drink: Fed 500 local artists and gave away over 5,000 cups of coffee and tea to foster connection and warmth.

  • Coat Drives: Hosted and produced 2 coat drives, collecting:

    • 564 coats

    • 116 blankets/bedding

    • Hundreds of pounds of clothing for Emergency Infant Services and the Travis Meyers Coats for Kids program.

  • Partnerships: Partnered with local galleries to showcase and sell artists' work and provided support for 2 additional nonprofit events.

A Note of Gratitude

Everything we achieved in 2023 was made possible by the artists, volunteers, and donors who believe in the power of Kitty Gang. Thank you for being part of our family.

Looking ahead: Stay tuned as we continue to grow our roots in Tulsa.
