Scaling Sustainability and Creating Stages for Local Talent.

In 2024, Kitty Gang Family Foundation focused on "the infrastructure of inspiration." We worked behind the scenes to support Tulsa’s biggest festivals, expanded our environmental footprint into the residential sector, and participated in the process to establish better composting policies at the state level.

🌱 Scraps Community Composting

Our environmental wing, Scraps Community Composting, saw massive growth in 2024, moving from a localized project to a community-wide service provider.

  • Waste Diversion: Diverted 52 cubic yards (approx. 13 tons) of organic waste from landfills.

  • Environmental Impact: Avoided emissions equivalent to a passenger vehicle being driven for over 18,000 miles: Equal to the carbon sequestered by 8.6 acres of U.S. forests in one year.

  • Residential Expansion: Successfully launched an expanded residential service, supported by Tulsa T-Town TNR, who donated "kitty buckets" for easy household scrap collection.

  • Sustainable Models: Partnered with local small businesses and artists to establish a long-term, self-sustaining composting model.

  • Provided direct feedback to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to help shape new policies for small-scale composting operations.

🎨 Art & Community Showcases

We brought the "Art Home" vibe to the public, partnering with major showcases at some of Tulsa's most iconic venues.

  • The Vanguard Showcase: Produced a community art showcase featuring 7 artists, drawing a crowd of 350 attendees.

  • Global District Showcase: Hosted a specialized exhibition in the Global District, featuring 5 local artists for 150 community members.

  • Big Bite Food Festival: Managed the full composting operations for Big Bite, ensuring that one of Tulsa's premier food events remained waste-conscious.

🎪 Festival & Set Production

Kitty Gang supported production activities for several major regional festivals, providing the physical sets and stages that bring these events to life.

  • Tulsa Tough: Donated set production for the legendary Cry Baby Hill events, contributing to the unique visual energy of celebration.

  • Neon Prairie Festival: Provided production support for one of the stages at the inaugural year of this multi-genre music and camping festival.

  • Harvest Festival: Built and managed set production to support local autumn celebrations.

🧥 Winter Outreach

Our commitment to our neighbors remains the heartbeat of our foundation.

  • Annual Holiday Celebration Coat Drive: Our most successful drive to date, collecting:

    • 272 coats

    • 87 blankets

    • 680 total pounds of winter gear for those in need.

2025: The Path Ahead

As we look toward 2025, we will be working to implement new DEQ policies to ensure expansion of our composting initiatives. And as always, be working to further drive sustainable practices in support of our communities and it's artists.

Thank you for being a part of Kitty Gang.
